Gated Golf Resort Haven Heated Pool and Game Room

To preface, we booked this home because it says specifically in the description that party’s are ok and the occasion was my aunt’s birthday with our family. Imagine my surprise when I get a message from the host just days before checking in that parties and events are strictly not allowed unless an exception is made. I told them that we only booked because lots of people are allowed over and the listing specifies yes party’s- and they seemingly begrudgingly agreed to make an exception.The good:-Nice house, nice neighborhood. Very quiet with quiet neighbors. You don’t feel like you’re overstepping as a short term rental even though some of the homes are definitely residential.-Plenty of street parking-Clean pool with a nice view of the sunsetThe Not So Good:-Inaccurate listing details (party policy)-Impossible to navigate the front gate guard, none of the entry codes work, security guard was very strict. Took about 25 minutes to be let in and each of our guests at least 5 minutes hassling up front.-The fridge has a LOCKED snack drawer with chips in it. So, they want you to pay for cold, soggy chips instead of offering them complimentary like any other host. We didn’t buy them, but the principle was so off putting.-There are a lot of rules about what to put where, how to clean up, etc., but no graciousness from the hosts. -When communicating with the hosts, you get very generic messages like they don’t know which house they’re dealing with.Overall, WNR.

Check in process was slow and painful. Key details that could have been requested in advance of our stay were requested during our journey from the airport to the property. Also, instructions for gaining entry to the house were confusing and couldn't find any info about waste/recycling collections etc. The pool was green and appeared to have some algae bloom during the 1st week, but was rectified around day 6 and was clear/blue for the 2nd week.The dishwasher and washing machine were filthy and could do with either a deep clean or complete replacement. Dishes came out dirtier than they went in, so had to wash everything by hand. Dark clothes came out full of white fluff which was really annoying.One of the children's beds was dangerous and had sharp screws sticking out the side, resulting in a nasty scratch caused in week 1.The sealant around the main bedroom shower is split and black with mould, so needs replacement.Gas had run out in the bbq and the patio heater, with no instructions or details on how to get it refilled.Most of the above was reported to the host via WhatsApp and they were apologetic enough, but I didn't feel they treated any of the issues with any urgency required and nothing was resolved prior to check out.Other than the above, the house does have great potential, it just needs some focus on bringing it back to a decent condition suitable for holiday stays.

We got this property pretty last minute, the host was able to charge us for another night so we could actually check in the night we arrived as I booked the house later in the day on VRBO so that was great. However that was about the only nice thing for this experience besides the actual pool area, the actual pool it self was very clean and a great temperature. But beyond that we had endless issues at this house. Everything is outdated and needs to be replaced I had to get in contact with host countless times to bring up all the concerns and issues we had. We know the house was vacant for at least a week prior to us being there but I'd say it was vacant for longer than that. The dishwasher was broken and stunk from having food and gunk left in there and not being ran because it won't run. The washer was the same stunk and full of fur in the agitator and wouldn't ring out properly. The beds had fur in the sheets because of the washer, the house stunk like closed up and musky smelling. Went to use the BBQ and it had these mats on it but they were molded and had fur on them as well The BBQ brush looked like someone used it to brush there dog which I brought all these issues and concerns up with the host to which I didn't get much of a resolution. They did pick our clothes up once to wash but very inconvenient with 2 young kids finally fixed on Friday evening by then we had enough with this property I don't recommend especially if you have allergies like my husband we left early!

Listing is exactly what it says it is! Everything was great. Only downside was the only tv that worked was the one in the garage.
